Head on Collision Near Breese Kills Two

Waldemor Tyberdent 17, of near Hoffman, and Miss Lenore Meier 19, of this city, died as a result of a head on collision with a truck. The accident occurred Thursday night of of last week at 9:15 P. M. Tyberent formerly worked at the Kroger store, here, while Miss Meier worked for the Moran Shoe Co. for 6 months. They were engaged to be married. The accident occurred west of Breese, Illinois on Route 50.

Two others were injured in the wreck, William TAYLOR, son of Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Taylor of Carlyle, a passenger in the car, sustained a fractured right arm and shoulder and several cuts and Ralph N. MILES of Washington, Indiana, the truck driver for Killion Motor Express, incurred a fractured left hip and numerous injuries. He is a patient in St. John's hospital in St. Louis and Taylor is a patient in St. Joseph¹s in Breese.

Tyberdent was killed instantly on account of the impact, while Miss Meier died about 90 minutes after reaching the hospital. Tyberdent was reported to have been west in a coupe while Miles was traveling east. According to the truck driver, Tyberdent attempted to pass a car and met the truck head on.

Funeral services for Miss Meier were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at the St. Mary's Church in Carlyle, Illinois with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rev Fr B. W. Heilgenberg officiated. Pallbearers were Henry HEMPEN. Jr, Ben HUENE, Joe HUENE, Fred LYMAN, Joe LYMAN, and Leo HEMPEN, Jr.

Lenore E. Meier was born in Carlyle August 23, 1920 and was 19 years old. She was educated in the local schools. Besides the bereaved parents, she also leaves the following sisters, Mrs. Ed SPEISER of Boulder, Mrs. Zenios TAYLOR and Mrs. Arnold HUEGEN of Albers, a half sister, Mary Catherine MEIER, and two step brothers, James and Carl COOK of Carlyle and many other relatives.
