Wilbert G. Wolters, 68

Wilbert G. Wolters, 68, of Breese, passed away on Monday, March 6th, 2006, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle from complications due to a fall on Jan. 12th, 2006.

Born Sept. 14th, 1937, in Highland, he was the son of Ben and Anna Mank Wolters and they preceded him in death. He married Rose Ann Gretzmacher on June 13th, 1964, at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer and she preceded him in death on July 8th, 1982.

His surviving loved ones are his two daughters, Milissa Riley and husband Tom of Chicago and Kathy Stevenson and husband Mike of Posey; his life was blessed with four grandchildren, Shanay and Cody Stevenson and Andrew and Nicole Riley; two brothers Otto Wolters and wife Dorothy of Aviston and Ray Wolters of Trenton; and two sisters Henrietta Beckmann of Aviston and Sally Barth of St. Rose.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dean Alan Wolters; three brothers, Bernard, Edward and Victor Wolters; and three sisters, Mary Ann Becker, Sylvia Becker and Edna Rosen.

He enjoyed the companionship of some great friends Steve and Charlie and Wib Voss. He proudly served in the U.S. Army beginning in Jan. 1960, and was honorably discharged in December of 1966.

He worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland, was a self employed painter and upon retiring from Germantown Egg Company, he enjoyed babysitting for his grandson, Cody. He was a member of the Beckemeyer American Legion Post 1227 where he once held the position of Sergeant at Arms.

He enjoyed sitting under a shade tree and visiting with friends and loved ones, he was a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals all his life. He also loved Hardee's double cheeseburgers with a slice of tomato and a cold Pepsi.

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, March 8th, at 10:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Pastor Al Simonson officiating.

Burial with full military honors beside his wife Rose Ann at the St. Anthony Cemetery in Beckemeyer
