Stephen L. Swagler, 52, of Shattuc, died Monday, June 28th, 1999, in a farm accident in northeastern Clinton county.

Born in Breese on May 12th, 1947, he was a son of Lewis and Martha Payne Swagler. On Nov. 27th, 1971, in Bartelso, he married Margie Schlautmann, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jason Swagler of Edwardsville and Rob Swag1er of Shattuc; his parents of Shattuc and one brother, Terry Swagler of rural Sandoval.

A life-long Shattuc resident, Mr. Swagler had been involved in the Swagler Brothers Farm Inc., for 34 years and was currently the manager. He was a former member of the Illinois National Guard. He also was a member of the Shattuc United Methodist Church.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval.

Private family services will be held for the deceased at the Day Funeral Home.
