Funeral services for Carlyle resident Mrs. Oma H. Pigg were held at 2 p.m. Sunday; Jan. 21st, at the United Methodist Church in Shattuc. Rev. Harold Quick officiated with burial in Sandoval cemetery.

Mrs. Pigg died at Carlyle Healthcare Center on Friday, Jan. 19th, 2001. She was 87 years old.

A daughter of William A. and Mamie Wood Hester, Mrs. Pigg was born in East Fork township on Aug. 24th, 1913. On Aug. 19th, 1958, in Odin, she married Charles M. Pigg. He died May 12th, 1966. Nieces and nephews survive, including local residents, Charles Conrad, Leroy Hester, and David Conrad, of Shattuc, Norman Conrad of Carlyle and Nancy Thouvenin of Carlyle.

Preceding her in death were one brother, Orville Hester and two sisters, Goldie Hester and Wilma Conrad.

Mrs. Pigg lived in the Shattuc area all of her life. She worked at Sherman Grocery Store in Sandoval and Kroger Store in Mt. Vernon, both as a clerk and in the meat department. She was a member of the Shattuc United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women of the [clipping ends].
