Funeral services for Keyesport resident Edsel "Bud" Nordike will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11th, at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle. Rev. Tom Hoffmann will officiate with burial following in McKendree Chapel cemetery near Keyesport.

Mr. Nordike died at his home on Monday, March 8th, 1999. He was 75 years old.

Born in Keyesport on July 27th, 1923, he was a son of Henry E. and Amelia C. Laux Nordike. On Jan. 26th, 1944, in St. Louis, he married Mildred Pirkey. She died Feb. 15th, 1990.

Survivors include seven sons, Donald Nordike of Keyesport, Douglas Nordike of Bowling Green, Ky., and Dennis, David, Dale, Duane and Daniel Nordike, all of Carlyle; five daughters, Mrs. Darlene Cox of Carlyle, Mrs. Deborah Garman of Greenville, Mrs.

Dixie Kevicki of Florissant, Mo., Mrs. Denise Hempen and Ms. Dee Dee Nordike, both of Smithboro.

He is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Robert Nordike of Columbia and Marlin "Dusty" Nordike of Bartelso. He was preceded in death by a son, Dean Ray Nordike and sister, Marie Steinman.

Mr. Nordike was a former employee of Fruehauf Trailer Co. in St. Louis and Irishtown Township Road Commissioner. He also was a former owner/operator of Milly's Cafe in Keyesport and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Keyesport American Legion.
