Funeral services for Carlyle resident Mrs. Marie E. Luebbers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9th, at St. Teresa's Church in Marydale. Rev. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon John Hempen will officiate with burial following in St. Mary's cemetery in Carlyle.

Mrs. Luebbers died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Tuesday, Nov. 6th, 2001, at the age of 86 years.

Born in Bond county on May 3rd, 1915, she was a daughter of Fredrick and Anna Loddick Hediger. On Sept. 12th, 1939, in Marydale, she married Menard Luebbers. He died May 30th, 2001. One son, Edwin Luebbers of Carlyle, two grandchildren and one great-grandson, survive. An infant brother preceded her in death.

The Luebbers farmed in rural Carlyle and also owned Shady Oak Campgrounds near Keyesport from 1970 to 1995. She was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau.

Visitation is at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8th, and from 8 to 10:00 a.m. Friday.
