Leo Langhauser, 90

Retired Little Prairie farmer Leo B. Langhauser died at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese on Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at the age of 90 years.

Born in Wade township on Nov. 20th, 1908, he was a son of Joseph L. and Maria T. Deters Langhauser. On April 18th, 1934, in Beckemeyer, he married Gertrude Kampwerth. She died Jan. 23rd, 1998.

A daughter, Mrs. Barbara Richter of Breese; three sons, Leon Langhauser of Decatur, Ralph Langhauser of Breese and Joseph Langhauser of Germantown; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Caroline Maue of Carlyle, survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Dwight Langhauser; three brothers, Joseph, Alphonse and Edwin Langhauser and one sister, Emma Langhauser.

Mr. Langhauser was a past president and trustee of Carlyle Mutual Insurance Co., and a retired agent for Rockford Mutual.

He was a member of St. Anthony' s Church in Beckemeyer, men's sodality of the church, Breese Knights of Columbus and 4th Degree Bishop Althoff Assembly.

Rev. Steve Poole officiated at services held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16th, at St. Anthony's. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
