Wilbert Kruse, 82

Wilbert "Wib" Kruse, 82, of Breese died at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese on Thursday, March 8th, 2001.

A life-long Breese resident, he was born in Breese on March 26th, 1918, a son of Frank and Catherine Reilmann Kruse. On July 20th, 1948, in Breese, he married Josephine A. Ribbing, and she survives.

Additional survivors include four sisters, Dorothy Meyer of St. Louis, Marcella Rolfingsmeyer, Mrs. Florence Ilges and Mary Schadegg, all of Breese and one brother, George Poelker of Melbourne, Fla. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Al Poelker.

On Feb. 28th, 1977, Mr. Kruse retired from the U.S., Postal Service after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church of Breese and Holy Name Society of the church, Breese American Legion, Breese Knights of Columbus and Highland Optimists.

Rev. Richard Mohr officiated at services held at St. Augustine's at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 12th, with burial following in St. Dominic-St. Augustine's cemetery in Breese.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Hempen Funeral Home in Breese.
