Lawrence Klasing, 59

Carlyle resident Lawrence R. Klasing died at his home on Saturday, Jan. 16th, 1999, at the age of 59 years. A son of Ralph and Elda Brandhorst Klasing, Sr., he was born in Okawville township, Washington county, on Jan. 17th, 1939.

Survivors include two sons, Brian and Mike Klasing, both of Carlyle; one daughter, Mrs. Stacy Hilmes of Carlyle; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Klasing, Jr., of Okawville and Albert Klasing of Hoffman and three sisters, Mrs. Helen Brockmeier of Okawville, Mrs. Bernice Roesner and Florence Klasing, both of Nashville.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Klasing.

Mr. Klasing served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was a technician and supervisor at Continental Telephone Company and then ConTel. He later retired from Signal Telephone Company. He was a former member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Okawville.

Rev. Bill Cummins officiated at services at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19th. Burial followed in St. Paul's cemetery.
