Bernard Huels, 72

Life-long Carlyle resident Bernard F. Huels died Friday, Sept. 5th, 1997, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. He was 72 years old.

A son of Anthony and Clara Krebs Huels, he was born near Carlyle on March 14th, 1925. On Sept. 28th, 1948, in Bartelso, he married Jane Vandeloo, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Ken Huels of Baldwin, Mo., and Tom Huels of Steward; one daughter, Mrs. Georgia Hansen of Arlington Heights; six grandsons; two brothers, Al and Bob Huels, both of Carlyle; and three sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Wiedle of Shattuc, Mrs. Virginia Sprehe of Centralia, and Mrs. Olive Gray of St. Ann, Mo.

Mr. Huels had operated Huels' Milk Service, drove for Frank Heinzmann Milk Co., Gordon Transport, and Hill Trucking. After retiring, he drove a school bus for Community Unit District One, Carlyle.

He served in the Army in World War II. He was a member of Teamsters Local 600 and the VFW of Carlyle.

He also was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle where Fr. George Mauck officiated at services held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8th. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

The Zieren-Day Funeral Home in Carlyle was in charge of arrangements.
