Retired farmer Alois H. Holtgrave of Breese died at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville on Saturday, Feb. 6th, 1999, at the age of 82 years.

Born in Beaver Prairie on Nov. 19th, 1916, Mr. Holtgrave was a son of Bernard and Christine Tebbe Holtgrave. On Jan. 15th, 1983, in Beaver Prairie, he married Clara "Dolly" Stevenson Jenne and she survives.

Others survivors include two sisters, Ida Rensing and Clara Haar of Belleville and one brother, Fred Holtgrave of Beaver Prairie. One sister, Bertha Holtgrave and three brothers, Otto, John and Steve Holtgrave, preceded him in death.

Mr. Holtgrave was a member of St. Augustine's Church in Breese and St. Felicitias Church in Beaver Prairie.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9th, at St. Augustine's with Rev. Steve Poole officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery in Carlyle.

The Moss Funeral Home in Breese was in charge of arrangements.
