Herbert Heinzmann, 76
New Baden resident Herbert A. Heinzmann died at Memorial Hospital in Belleville on Monday, April 14th, 1997, at the age of 76 years.
Born in New Baden on Nov. 13th, 1920, he was a son of Joseph and Josephine Fielder Heinzmann. On June 13th, 1981, in New Baden, he married Norma Sherman, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two stepsons, Steven Baro of Belleville and John Baro of Aviston; three stepdaughters, Nancy Eichacker and Mrs. Janet Matysik, both of Belleville, and Mrs. Barbara Stroud of Jacksonville, N.C.; 10 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Martha Ruff of Highland.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Arnold Heinzmann.
Before retiring in 1983, Mr. Heinzmann had been employed for 42 years at Granite City Steel. He was a member of the United Steel Workers.
He also was a member of St. George Church in New Baden where his funeral was held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday). Rev. Thomas Barrett officiated with burial in Resurrection cemetery in New Baden.
Visitation was at the Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden.
