Victor Head, 75

Victor O. Head, 75, of Carlyle, died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Thursday, March 11th, 1999.

Born in Morrisonville on Sept. 30th, 1923, he was a son of Dr. J. O. and Marie Head. On April 29th, 1944, in Beaver Prairie, he married Julia Ellen Monken. She died Nov. 25th,1984.

Survivors include two sons, John Head of Edwardsville and Alan Head of Center, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jo Head of Edwardsville, Mrs. Kathleen Farrell of St. Louis and Mrs. Vicki Graves of Woodbury, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter and one sister, Mrs. Mary Frances Harpin of Rochester, Mass.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Joan Surkis and one brother, J. Stanley Head.

A retired businessman, Mr. Head was a member and past grand knight of the Carlyle Knights of Columbus and member of the Carlyle American Legion.

He also was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle where Rev. George Mauck officiated at services held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 15th. Burial was in the church cemetery. In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Head's body was cremated.

The Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle was in charge of arrangements.
