Lawrence Gillette, 84

Rev. Tom Hoffman officiated at services for Lawrence "Bud" Gillette at 11 a.m. Monday, March 20, at McKendree Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Gillette, a resident of Carlyle, died Friday, March 17, 1995, at Carlyle Healthcare Center. He was 84 years old.

Born in Boulder on Dec. 6, 1910, he was a son of Fred and Lillie Eldridge Gillette. On Nov. 21, 1941, in Missouri, he married Millie Sanders. She died May 29, 1972.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Mrs. Lela Lou Crisel of Metropolis; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gillette was a caretaker for McKendree and Carlyle cemeteries.

Visitation was at the Zieren-Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.
