MURDER-A man by the name of Taylor was run over, one mile east of Trenton, by Express train No. 4, going east, on the O. & M. Railway, Sunday evening, the 28th inst. He was seen on the track near the place where he had met his death, a few minutes before the train passed, and then was quite drunk. He was found the next morning with his head half gone, his bowels torn out, left arm torn off, and the brains and bowels scattered along the track for a distance of over two hundred yards, the whole presenting a sickening sight. Taylor was a young unmarried man, an American-and came, we believe, from Arkansas. He had been in the community for a year or more, laborering on a farm, and for the last few weeks, on the railroad section, and was considered a honest, hard-working man. The Coroners jury rendered the verdict, "came to his death by being run over by the cars, while in a state of intoxication." Now we do not presume to say that the engineer, or anyone conected with the road, could have prevented this sad situation. But what shall we say of those men who consoled, contrary to law, whose rum caused the death of this victim!
