Near our neighboring town of Trenton, in this county, was the scene of an awful and heart rendering accident on last Monday. Samuel Remick, son of Mr. G. W. Remick, of Trenton, had been to the woods for a load of wood. He was seen to start for town with his load, and shortly after was found lying against a stump, alongside the road, dead. Some slight bruises were found on his body, and his clothing was muddy, as though he had been dragged through the mud. It is supposed by some that he was thrown off the load, forward, and becoming tangled in the harness, had been dragged some little distance, though this is all conjecture; exactly how the accitdent occurred will probably never be known. The scene of the accident was about a mile East of Trenton.
