Lamp Explosion-Mary Bippus, a young girl of fifteen, living at Mr. R. N. Ramsay's, in this place, met with a fatal accident last Sunday night. A coal-oil lamp exploded in her hands, scattering the oil over her clothing, and she was immediately enveloped in flames. The fire was extinguished in a very few seconds, but in those few seconds her clothing was almost consumed, and she was so badly injured that she died on Tuesday evening, just forty-eight hours after the accident occurred. This is the first time a coal-oil lamp has exploded in this place.
