Frantz Muench, 82

Shattuc resident Frantz "Frank" Muench died Dec. 30 at Dallas-­Fort Worth Medical Center in Grand Prairie, Tex. He was 82 years old.

Born in Clinton County on Oct. 24, 1903, Mr. Muench was a son of Lewis H. and Lillie S. Krost Muench. He married Grace Ahlf on Nov. 29, 1929, and she preceded him in death in 1968. He married Ruth Blake on Sept. 28, 1974; and she survives.

In addition to his widow, survivors include two sons, Paul Muench of Channahon and Raymond Muench of Shattuc; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Breithaupt of Shattuc and Mrs. Doris Ballah of Alton; two stepsons, Don Blake of Grand Prairie, Tex. and Robert Blake of Benton; 11 grandchildren and four great-grand­children; and one brother, Henry Muench of Shattuc.

Mr. Muench was a retired carpenter, former school board member and served five years on the Clinton County Board of Review. He was a member of the Church of God and the church's Sunday school class and was a former church board member.

Mr. Muench's funeral was held on Friday, Jan. 3rd, at the Cox, Martin and Day Funeral Home in Sandoval. Rev. H. Lee Murrell officiated at the 1:00 p.m. services with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
