Former Carlyle resident Eugene A. Diekemper died at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Michigan on March 15th, 1999. He was 94 years old. Born in Carlyle on April 16th, 1904, he was a son of Bernard and Anna Schroder Diekemper. On Nov. 4th, 1929, in Maybee, Mich., he married Florence Fix. She died July 24th, 1973.

Nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Leander, Mathias, Cleo. and Ferdinand Diekemper and three sisters, Ida Diekemper, Olivia Dierkes and Josephine Klutho.

Services were held at 10 a.m. March 17th at St. Joseph's Church in Monroe, Mich., with Rev. William Fisher officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rupp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
