Walter Zimmermann, 76

Life-long Ferrin resident Walter Zimmermann died at St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia on Friday, Feb, 26th, 1999, at the age of 76 years.

A son of Carl and Lena Ott Zimmermann, he was born in Ferrin on Sept. 19th, 1922. On June 3rd, 1943, in Ferrin, he married Joyce Adams, and she survives.

In addition to his widow, survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Jo O'Neal of Abingdon, Mrs. Patsy Beer of Ferrin and Peggy and Cathy Zimmermann, both of Centralia; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Mattmiller of Centralia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbert Zimmermann.

Mr. Zimmermann was a grain and dairy farmer and a truck driver. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin where he held several offices over the years.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1st, at Bethlehem Lutheran with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.
