Edwin Yardley, 93
Shattuc resident Edwin "Lee" Yardley died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Thursday, Dec. 13th, 2001. He was 93 years old.
A son of Charles and Ada Cochran Yardley, he was born Nov. 13th, 1908, in Boulder. On Feb. 16th, 1946, in Ferrin, he married Anna Nolte. She died June 27th, 1999.
One son, Calvin Yardley of Shattuc; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Thompson of Odin and Mrs. Dianne Kendall of Cabot, Ark., and 10 grandchildren and eight great grand children, survive. One brother, Clyde Yardley and five sisters, Maude, Goldie, Dorothy, Mabel and Ruby, preceded him in death.
Mr. Yardley was a retired farmer. He had served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin.
Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiated at services held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15th, at Bethlehem Lutheran church. Burial was in Pritchett cemetery near Boulder. Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle was in charge of arrangements.
