Edward Woltering, 83

The funeral of Aviston resident Edward F. Woltering was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, at St. Francis Church in Aviston. Rev. Steven Poole officiated with burial in he church cemetery.

Mr. Woltering died at his home on Saturday, Oct. 31st, 1998, at the age of 83 years. Born in St. Rose township on July 20th, 1915, Mr. Woltering was a son of Theodore and Louisa Braun Woltering. On Nov. 6th, 1945, in Germantown, he married Elizabeth "Alice" Sprehe, and she survives.

In addition to his widow, survivors include one son, Dennis Woltering of Aviston; three daughters, Mrs. Diane Kahrhoff of Aviston, Carol McKinney of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Shirley Detmer of Breese; 14 grandchlidren and three great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Adelle Korte of Breese, Marie Moss of Fairmount, Ind., and Mrs. Veronica Ritchey of Florida.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild, two brothers, Herman and Joe Woltering and two sisters, Sister Lucille Woltering, AdPPS and Sister Mary Colette Woltering, AdPPS.

Mr. Woltering had been owner/operator of E. F. Woltering Blacksmith from 1945 until 1980. He was a member of the Aviston BIB Club a former fire chief and volunteer for the Aviston Fire Department and member of Aviston Chamber of Commerce. He also had been a committeeman of the Aviston Boy Scouts and district committeeman for Okaw Valley Council.

The Brefeld Funeral Home in Aviston was in charge of arrangements
