Mary Winkeler 85

Life long Bartelso resident Mary C. "Marie" Winkeler died at Carlyle Healthcare Center on Dec. 26th, 2001. She was 85 years old.

A daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Bergmann Winkeler, she was born in Bartelso on April 21st, 1916.

Five sisters, Mrs. Marcella Clark and Betty Gebke, both of Bartelso, Johanna Fuehne of Breese and Cleo Krebs and Josephine Kunkel, both of Carlyle; two brothers, Albert Winkeler of Bartelso and Edward Winkeler of Belleville, survive. Three brothers, George, Rudolph and Frank Winkeler, preceded her in death.

Miss Winkeler was a housekeeper and live-in home health provider. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Bartelso and Altar Sodality of the church. A Mass of Resurrection was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29th, at St. Cecilia's church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.
