S. Lester Bright, 83

Life-long Boulder area resident S. Lester Bright died at his home in Boulder on Sunday, Nov. 1st, 1998, the age of 83 years.

A son of John Logan and Alta Agnes Edwards Bright, he was born on March 24th, 1915, in East Fork township. On Nov. 29th, 1939, in St. Charles, Mo., he married Vivian M. Herrin and she survives.

Additional survivors include one son, Rick Bright of Delevan; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Koehler of Boulder and Mrs. Debra Nowak of Hoffman; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and one brother, Charles Bright of Boulder.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Bright and daughter, Judy Etter; three brothers, Harless, Thomas, David and Victor Bright and a sister, Urith Bright.

Mr. Bright was a construction laborer for over 50 years and was a member of Carlyle Laborers Local. He had served in the Army. He was a 25 year member of the Huey-Ferrin-Boulder Fire Department.

He was a member of the Boulder United Methodist Church. He also was a 50 year Masonic member with current membership in Sandoval Masonic Lodge 932. Also, member of the Scottish Rite Consistory of Southern Illinois, Ainad Temple of East St. Louis and honorary member of Odin No. 503, Salem No. 130 and Scott Lodge of Carlyle.

Rev. Francis Michels and Rev. Ray Long officiated at services held at Day Funeral Home in Sandoval at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday). Burial followed in Pritchett cemetery.
