Ray Toennies, 56

The funeral of Ray Toennies, 56, of Breese, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12th, at St. Dominic's Church in Breese. Rev. Patrick Peter and Rev. Vincent Haselhorst will officiate with burial following in St. Dominic-St. Augustine's cemetery in Breese.

Mr. Toennies died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Tuesday, Feb. 9th, 1999. He was 56 years old.

Born in Damiansville on Dec. 7th, 1942, he was a son of Alphonse H. and Frances Fuehne Toennies. On May 31st, 1969, in St. Rose, he married Marilyn [middle initial unreadable] Rosen, and she survives.

In addition to his widow, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Tracy Schulte; one son, Terry Toennies of Breese; one grandchild and four brothers, Richard, Marvin and Jerry Toennies, all of Damiansville and Alien Toennies of Mascoutah.

Mr. Toennies retired from McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing in Dec. 1998, after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion, both in Breese.

Visitation is at the Hempen Funeral Home in Breese from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
