HANKE, Helen (BUCHELE)

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Hanke were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9th, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle. Rev. Steve Sommerer officiated with burial in Carlyle cemetery.

Mrs. Hanke died at Carlyle Healthcare Center on Saturday, April 6th, 2002. She was 91 years old.

Born in East Fork township on May 23rd, 1910, Mrs. Hanke was a daughter of Edward and Ada May Edwards Buchele. She married Alfred Hanke in Ferrin on April 6th, 1932. He died on Sept. 14th, 1969.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dolores Tyberendt of Shattuc, two grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Earl and Harold Buchele and one sister, Hildred Koehne.

Mrs. Hanke had worked at Germantown Egg Company and Carlyle Healthcare. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she also quilted.

Visitation was at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.
