The death of Mrs. James Russell, aged 61 years 7 mos. and 19 days occurred at her home Tuesday. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the late home of the deceased by Rev. E. Grey WININGER of the M. E. Church after which interment was made in the city cemetery. The maiden name of the deceased was Anna PHIPPS and she was born in Washington D.C. June 25 1863. With her parents William and Sarah (LAWRENCE) Phipps, she came to Centralia in 1881 and later moved to Carlyle. She was twice married. The first time to Willis REYNOLDS whose death occurred some years ago. (1898) In 1902 she was married to James Russell. Since both her marriages, she has made her home in Carlyle. To the unions, 4 children were born, all of whom with her late husband survive. The children are Virgil, Earl and Darrell

Reynolds and John RUSSELL. Three brothers James and John Phipps of Centralia and W. F. Phipps of Evansville Ind. also survive besides other relatives and a host of friends. We join many friends of the bereaved in extending our sympathy to them in their hours of utmost sorrow.
