FUNERAL OF MRS. GETRUDE LAMMERS YESTERDAY MORNING

Funeral services were held yesterday (Thursday) morning at nine o'clock in the St. Anthony's church, Beckemeyer, for Mrs. Getrude Lammers, 52, of south of Beckemeyer. Rev. Father B. Hilgenberg, St. Anthony's pastor, had charge of the rites. Interment was made in the St. Anthony's cemetery.

Mrs. Lammers, one of widely-acquainted and much respected farm women of the Beckemeyer vicinity, had passed away at her home, one mile south of Beckemeyer, at 4:45 o'clock Monday afternoon. She had been very ill but since Saturday, although she had been feeling poorly several days. She had never before experienced a serious illness. Death was due to cramps and dysentery.

She leaves five children, a brother, three sisters and three grandchildren. Her husband, the late Herman L. Lammers, died January 9, 1918, when a sled on which he was riding was struck by the Baltimore and Ohio second No. 11 passenger train at a crossing in Beckemeyer.

Surviving are the three daughters, Adelaide, Mrs. Ignatz Beer, of Bartelso; Helen, Mrs. Herman Timmermann, of south of Beckemeyer; and Miss Agnes Lammers, at home; two sons, Leo Lammers and Vincent Lammers, at home; the brother, Herman Fehlker, of southeat of Beckemeyer; three sisters, Mrs. Casper Krebs, Carlyle; Mrs. John Mueller, Germantown; and Mrs. Frank Hagen, Breese; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Lammers was the mother of six children, one son, Bernard, having died in infancy; a brother, George Fehlker, of St. Rose; and two sisters, Lizzie, Mrs. Theodore Niebur, of Breese, and Mary, Mrs. Herman Morscher, of Germantown, also preceded her in death.

She was born southwest of Carlyle, at Little York, September 4, 1881, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Fehlker. November 6, 1899, she was united in marriage in Germantown, in a double wedding, with Herman L. Lammers, of south of Beckemeyer. They went to housekeeping on the farm where she died and where she reared her children after their father's death in 1918.

She was faithful member of the St. Anthony's church in Beckemeyer, a member of its St. Ann's Married Ladies' Sodality. To her children, she had been both mother and father for the past 16 years; by them she will be most sorely missed, as well as by a large acquaintance of friends.
