CARLYLE - Frances G. Barkley, 88; of 501 Clinton, Carlyle, died at 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, may 4, 1993, at Carlyle Health Care Center.

She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on Feb. 2, 1905, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Piper) Gibson. She married Paul Barkley in Chicago on Sep. 10, 1927, and he survives in Carlyle.

Other survivors include a son, James Barkley of Knoxville, Tenn., and a brother, Robert Gibson of Arizona.

Mrs. Barkley was a homemaker and executive secretary.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Carlyle Health Care Center, with the Rev. John Vidakovich officiating. Interment will be in Carlyle Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday after 10 a.m. at Carlyle Health Care Center. Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle is in charge of funeral arrangements.
