Funeral Services To Be Held Friday; Interment at Duncan

Mrs. Pearl Caroline ALEXANDER, 79, widow of Richard Alexander, formerly of Keyesport, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard SWARTZ, 1400 S. Second St., in this city. Mrs. Alexander had been in failing health for several years but seriously sick the last three weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2p.m. Friday at the Donnell Funeral Home, the Rev. R. E. Wills of Patoka, officiating. Interment will be in Duncan cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander was the daughter of the late Richard J. and Emma (KESNER) APPLE and was born in Tamalco township, October 3, 1879, being aged 79 years, nine months and 18 days. She was married to Richard Alexander, October 19. 1898 at the home of her parents. Following their marriage they lived in Tamalco community, then moved to Clinton county for a time, later moving to Keyesport where Mr. Alexander passed away November 18, 1942. She is survived by four sons, Ransom Alexander of Joliet, Roy Alexander of Tamalco, Wayne Alexander of Brighton and Burl Alexander of Rosewood Heights, East Alton; two daughters, Emma, Mrs. Virgil DURELL of Roxana; Merle, Mrs. Richard Swartz of Greenville and three sisters, Miss Octa Apple and Mrs. Cressie DIXON of Clinton county, Mrs. Harley HORD of Boulder and two brothers, Clay R. Apple, Greeley, Colo., and Erwin K. Apple of Morton. Two brothers, Jacob V. Apple and Dean Apple have preceded her in death. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren (rest of article missing)
