Funeral services for Mrs. Smith APPLE, a former resident of Keyesport, whose death at the Soldiers' & Sailors' Home at Quincy on Tuesday of last week was noted in The Advocate, Thursday, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ at Keyesport, the Rev. R. T. Hickerson of this city officiating. Interment was made at the Duncan cemetery.

Mrs. Apple's maiden name was Mary E. DILLE and she was born in Indiana, October 12, 1845, having attained the age of 81 years, 10 months and 24 days at the time of her death. She was a daughter of Hezekian and Rebecca Dille and was one of a family of seven children. At the age of 18 years, she was married to John Smith Apple. In 1874 they came to Illinois to make their home. Four children were born to this union, the eldest, Mattie, having preceded her mother in death. The surviving children are Chas. B. Apple and Mrs. Ella E. CARTER of New Boston, and Mrs. Minnie C. WELBORN of Rye, Colorado. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and seven great grand children.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Apple will be remembered as highly respected residents of Keyesport where they resided for many years.
