ALBERT RAKERS DIES AT AVISTON

Funeral services were held yesterday morning, Thursday, at 8:30 o'clock in the St. Francis church in Aviston for Albert Rakers, 77, well-known Aviston resident, a son of August Rakers and a brother of Herman Rakers of Carlyle, whose death from hardening of the arteries occurred Sunday night at 10:40 o'clock after a week's illness.

Acting as pall bearers at the funeral yesterday were Leo Lampe, Nick Strubhart, Henry Doll, Henry Kuper, George Timmermann and Ferd Lager.

Surviving are his wife, the former Josephine Stoff of Aviston, whom he married February 13, 1890; a sister, Mary Stoff, Aviston; the brother, Herman Rakers, Carlyle; and seven children: Henry Rakers, Aviston; Mrs. Henry Schleper, Trenton; Mrs. Ben Heimann, Damiansville; August Rakers, Carlyle; George Rakers, Damiansville; Frank and Fred Rakers, Aviston. Two children died in infancy.

Mr. Rakers was born in Lingen, Germany, November 1, 1859. He came to this country with his mother when he was 18, his father being dead. They settled near Aviston, his home since.
