Daniel E. Brassel

June 27. 1936 - March 22, 2007

Daniel Edward Brassel was born June 27, 1936, the third child of Irwin (Sonny) and Hildegarde Brassel, in Dardenne, Mo. In 1952 the family moved to Carlyle where he played baseball and other sports in high school and spent most of the rest of his life. He is probably known for his years in the construction of silos in and around the farming communities of Carlyle. He was a kind and considerate man and made many friends.

Danny's was a close-knit loving family of six children, Colleen Vaughn (the late Bill) of San Antonio, Texas, Luke Brassel (Jean) of St. Louis, Mo., and Sandra Jernigan of Breese. Preceding him in death were sisters, Laura Kellermann (the late Butch) and Peggy Holtgrave (the late Laverne) of Breese.

On September 19, 1957, he married Rose Meyer and the couple had two children, Greg Brassel (Lisa) of Carlyle and Cheryl Kampwerth (Dan) of Breese. Another son, Randy Hellman (Lisa) reside in Carlyle.

He passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007.

Along with his three children, he is survived by seven grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and beloved companion Cheryl Gaddy Brassel. He leaves also the many friends he met along life's pathway. He A memorial mass will be held at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Breese on April 22, at 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of life held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Carlyle. PAID
