Eleanor C. Holtgrave

January 23, 1914 - November 4, 2006

A funeral mass was held Tuesday afternoon for Eleanor C. Holtgrave, 92, of St. Rose who died Saturday, Nov. 4th, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland.

The Rev. Fr. Edward Schaeffer officiated at the Mass and interment was at St. Rose Cemetery. Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Mrs. Holtgrave was born January 23rd, 1914, in St. Rose to George and Julianna Heldorfer Hoh. They preceded her in death. On October 19th, 1938, she was married to Lawrence Holtgrave at St. Rose Church. He died on November 29th, 1979.

The Holtgrave couple had three children, two of whom survive. They are Paul and his wife, Sue Holtgrave, and Jane Holtgrave, both of Highland. A daughter, Patricia Wyle, and her husband Albert preceded her in death.

There are four grandchildren and a great grandson.

Four sisters, Veronica Benhoff, Cecilia Schrage, Rose Rehkemper and Helen Buehne, and two brothers, Albert and Alfred Hoh, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Holtgrave was a homemaker and member of St. Rose Church, its Altar Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718.

The family requested memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
