Viola A. Bach, 89
Viola A. Bach, 89, of Carlyle, died on Wednesday, Sept. 20th, 2006, at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center in Lebanon.
Born on March 2nd, 1917, in Carlyle, she was the daughter of Frank and Cecelia Niehenke Erlinger. She married Louis Bach on Feb. 18th, 1941, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle, and he preceded her in death on May 25th, 1985.
She is survived by two daughters, Gerry Zika of Belleville and Judy Kapp of Trenton; a son, Bob Bach of Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Celeste List of Carlyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Regis Erlinger.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle. She was active in St. Ann Altar Sodality and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She and her husband owned Carlyle Laundry Company from 1948-1972. She also worked as a housekeeper at Hi-De-Ho Motel and Carlyle Healthcare Center. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and embroidering.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 25th, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle, with Fr. George, Mauck, officiating.
Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in Carlyle.
Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
