Thomas R. Taylor, 56, of Carlyle, entered into rest on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.

Mr. Taylor was born on October 17, 1952, a son of Roy and Louise (Goldsmith) Taylor.

Tom is survived by his parents; a sister, Peggy Gebke and husband Randy of Bartelso; a niece, Erica Rennegarbe of Addieville; a nephew, Adam Gebke and wife Melissa of Carlyle; a great nephew, Braxton Rennegarbe; his aunts and uncles, Ruth Zeisset and husband Charles of Trenton, Jesse Taylor and wife Rose of Carlyle, Margie Taylor of Carlyle, Mildred Lampe and husband David of Germantown, Pat Taylor of Carlyle, Nancy Wood and friend Chris Wexler of Belleville, Ilene Allison and husband Ray of Chester, Darleen Hegger and husband Don of Aviston, Bob Taylor and wife Connie of Cabot, Ark. and Bernell Schniers of Carlyle.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Michael Taylor in 1956; his grandparents, James and Mildred Taylor and Adolph and Ida Goldsmith; a nephew, Nicholas Rennegarbe; and his aunts and uncles, Dolores and Virgil Niebur, Charlie Taylor, Jack Taylor and Phyllis Taylor Schniers.

Mr. Taylor was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle. He enjoyed Cardinals baseball, Rams football, swimming, camping and going out to eat.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 5, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, celebrant.

Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
