Paul B. Timmermann, 79, of Trenton, died Thursday, September 24, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

He was born January 7, 1930, in Aviston, to George and Catherine (Wellen) Timmermann and they preceded him in death. He married Juliana "Julie" (Spihlmann) Timmermann on April 19, 1955, at St. Augustine Church in Breese and she survives in Trenton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Harold (Amy) Timmermann and James Timmermann all of Trenton; daughters, Sandra (Joe) Todoroff of Swansea, Ann (Al) Ortiz of Corona, Calif. and Carol (Paul) Zellner of Collinsville; 10 grandchildren, Jason Langhauser, Melissa, Amanda, Timothy Timmermann, Jamie, Jenna Todoroff, Joshua, Taina Ortiz, Tasia (Raymond) Sanchez and Cristina Kirtman; three step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five step great grandchildren; brothers, Walter (Lucy) Timmermann of Calabash, N.C., David "Jeff" (Mary Jane) Timmermann of Germantown and Raymond (Lynn) Timmermann of Charleston, W.V.; sisters, Marie Povolish of New Baden, Esther Brady of Ottawa, Catherine Seigmann of Aviston,

Delores (George) Glover of Napa, Calif. and Edna (Mike) Banco of Great Fall, Mont.; and sisters-in-law, Marie Timmermann and Marilyn Timmermann both of Breese.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a, daughter, Anita Langhauser; two sisters in infancy; brothers, Erbin Timmermann and George Timmermann; brothers-in-law, Elmer Singler, Paul Povolish, Wally Schroeder and Ray Brady; and a sister-in-law, Kay Timmermann.

He retired after 44 years at Granite City Steel. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Men's Sodality in Trenton, Life Member of the Trenton VFW Post 7983 in Trenton, Life member of American Legion Post 252 in Breese and United Steel Workers Local 1899 in Granite City.

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, September 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Gene Kreher officiating.

Burial followed in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Moss Funeral Home in Trenton handled the arrangements.
