Victor L. VonHatten

Victor L. VonHatten, 67, of New Baden, died Wednesday, September 9, at his home.

He was born July 17, 1942, in Breese, the son of Victor F. and Agnes (Voss) VonHatten. He married Marilyn H. Macke on January 18, 1964, in New Baden and she survives in New Baden.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Victoria (Jeffery) Breckel of Mascoutah and Linda (James) Miller of New Baden; grandchildren, Joshua Breckel, Emma Breckel, Timothy Chapman, Austin Miller, Lavonda Miller and Betty Miller; brothers and sisters, Thomas VonHatten of Tooele, Utah Donald (Faye) VonHatten of Trenton, Jeanette (Dan) Huelsmann of Breese, Barbara (Aloys "Turk") Kuper of Aviston, Mary Frances (Larry) Goebel of Highland, Margaret (Don) Deiters of Trenton, Jean (Paul) Steinmann of Breese, Patricia (William) Warfield of Marine, and Shirley VonHatten of St. Jacob; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd (Carol) Macke of Trenton and Jean Deien of New Baden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David VonHatten in infancy; a sister, Carol Trame; a brotherin-law, Donald Deien; and a sister-in-law, Joan Macke.

Mr. VonHatten was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden and the UAW Local 325 in Hazelwood, Mo. He worked as a laborer for Ford Motor Company until his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 11, at St. George Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating.

Burial followed at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.

Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden handled the arrangements.
