Theodore H. Edwards

Theodore Harold Edwards, 89, formerly of Carlyle, died Monday August 24, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.

He was born January 6, 1920, in Beckemeyer, the son of Hobart and Naomi (Lytle) Edwards. He married Edna (Hartman) Edwards October 3, 1939, and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2008.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was proceeded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his daughters, Darlene Pike and husband James of Pocahontas, Sharon Hughes of Greenville and Debbie Chapman and husband Jeff of Highland; his sons, James Edwards and wife Rosemarie of Millersburg, and Thomas Edwards and wife Sandy of Highland; one brother, Jake Edwards of Michigan; and 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He worked as a welder for American Steel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, at St. Anthony's Church in Beckemeyer.

Burial will follow at the Posey Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.

Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle is serving the family.
