Clyde L. Monken

Clyde L. Monken, 82, of Summerfield, died Friday, August 14, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

He was born December 30, 1926, in St. Morgan, to Lawrence and Ellen (Reiger) Monken and they preceded him in death. He married Jean Herman in Arkansas and she survives in Summerfield.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Myron Monken of Louisiana; a grandson, Michael Monken of Trenton; and sisters, Opal Manwaring of St. Morgan and Joyce Geiger of Highland.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley Monken; and a brother, Norman Monken.

He was a retired Laborer and a member of Laborer's Local 670 in O'Fallon.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 18, at 11 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating.

Burial followed in the College Hills Cemetery in Lebanon.

Moss Funeral Home in Trenton handled the arrangements.
