Eugene W. Albers, 78, of Bartelso, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

He was born July 12, 1931, in Bartelso, to Henry and Cecilia (Usselmann) Albers and they preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Norbert Albers; sister, Leona Voss; brothers-in-law, Alfred Voss and Edward Korte; sisters-in-law, Margie Albers and Lucille Albers.

Surviving are brothers, Henry "Jitter' (Mary) Albers of Damiansville and Richard Albers of Bartelso; sisters, Viola Korte of Carlyle and Dolores (Robert) VonBokel of Aviston; and sister-in-law, Marie Albers of . [sic]

He was retired from Ford Motor Company and enjoyed playing pinochle. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso, American Legion Post 976 Bartelso, Catholic War Veterans, Bartelso Knights of Columbus.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday July 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday July 30 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
