Ella Mae Knuf

September 13, 1928 - July 31, 2009

Ella Mae Knuf, 80, of Carlyle, entered into rest on Friday, July 31, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.

Mrs. Knuf was born in Marion County, on September 13, 1928, a daughter of Paul and Huldah (Marlow) See. She married Anthony W. Knuf in Pocahontas, Ark. on April 19, 1952, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1994.

Mrs. Knuf is survived by a daughter, Pam Wedekemper and husband Gary of Carlyle; four sons, Steve Knuf and wife Roxanne and Charles Knuf and wife Kathie, all of Carlyle; Bill Knuf and wife Sharon of Highland and Thomas Knuf and wife Lisa of Flower Mound, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Hilda Powell, Elsie Rose and Mary Diss, all of Salem and Inez Douthitt and husband Clifford of Longview, Texas; a brother, Leroy See of Salem; a sister-in-law, Ellen See; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Clark and Leo Knuf and wife Nanette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 7 siblings.

Mrs. Knuf was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 3, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. Ben Stern, officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
