Raymond Schroeder, 96

Raymond Schroeder. 96, of Carlyle, died Saturday. April 29th, 2006, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center.

Born Aug. 31st, 1909, in Bartelso, he was the son of John and Mary Huene Schroeder and they preceded him in death. He married Marie Wichman on May 12th, 1937, in Joliet and she preceded him in death on April 13th, 1991.

He is survived by three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Kannall of Highland; two brothers, Arnold Schroeder of Aviston and Larry Schroeder of Breese.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Bob Schroeder; a sister, Monica Schroeder; and six brothers, Bart, Louis, Emil, Richard, Virgil and John Schroeder.

He was a member of St. Mary Church in Carlyle and was retired from the State of Illinois Prison System as a guard.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, May 2nd, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Carlyle with Father George Mauck officiating.

Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery in Carlyle.

Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
