Orlu L. Kleber

Orlu L. Kleber, 92, of Carlyle, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center.

She was born in Red Bud on August 7, 1916, the daughter of George and Emma (Wagner) Boo. She married Jess Kleber on September 30, 1939, in Union, Mo. and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1982.

Mrs. Kleber is survived by a sister, Geraldine Wolff of Red Bud; a niece, Janine (Barney) Ehlers of Carlyle; and greatniece and nephew, Sarah Ehlers of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Gavin Ehlers of Huntington Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Burden Boyd and Margaret Hamilton; and a brother, Eugene Boo.

She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ. She owned and operated many businesses with her husband, one of the last being the former Dairy Burger in Carlyle.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 5, at 11 a.m. at the Carlyle Cemetery with Rev. Earl Menchhofer officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
