Hortense L. Haumesser

June 16, 1921 - July 6, 2009

Hortense L. Haumesser, 88, of Carlyle, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center.

She was born in Breese on June 16, 1921, a daughter of Edward H. and Hattie A. (Arnold) Unger.

Mrs. Haumesser is survived by a grandson, Matthew Albat and wife Jennifer of Carlyle.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Haumesser Albat; and a brother, Edwin Unger.

She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Carlyle and the Women's Guild at the church. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, baking, gardening and reading the bible.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Carlyle with Rev. Earl Menchhoffer officiating.

Burial will follow at Carlyle Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle is handling the arrangements.
