Glenn F. Farrell, 89, formerly of Carlyle, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, Mo.
He was born in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Claude and Ada (Bearden) Farrell. He married Mary Ann Nothaus on October 27, 1940, in St. Louis and she survives in Versailles.
The Farrell family moved to Carlyle when Glenn was 10 years old and was a graduate of Carlyle High School. He entered the United States Navy and served for two years in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle and the Ruf-Marcham American Legion Post 404. He was an employee of the City of Carlyle Water Department before working at Scott Air Force Base, where he retired.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle with Pastor Keith Michaels officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors accorded.
Friends may visit with the family at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 24 from 9:30 until service time.
