Mary J. Mioux

January 28, 1924 - November 7, 2008

Mary J. Mioux, 84, of Carlyle, entered into rest on Friday, November 7, 2008, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle.

She was born in Breese, on January 28, 1924, a daughter of Gerhard and Josephine (Lager) Timmermann. She married Joseph W. Mioux on April 11, 1959, in Breese, Illinois and he survives in Carlyle.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mioux is also survived by two daughters, Dr. Mary Berry, D.O. and husband Richard of Pasadena, Calif. and Martha Mioux of Effingham; a son, Joseph G. Mioux and wife Anna of Carlyle; six grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Jennifer and Christina Mioux and Katherine and Richard Berry; two sisters, Martha E. Timmermann and Josephine A. Timmermann; a brother, Anthony G. Timmermann and wife Marcella, all of Breese; and two sisters-in-law, Anne Timmermann of Breese and Mary Davis of San Anselmo, Calif.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mioux was preceded in death by two brothers, August J. Timmermann and Joseph B. Timmermann.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle and St. Ann Altar Sodality and worked as a florist at Mioux Florist in Carlyle until her retirement in 2003.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating.

Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
