Eugenia E. "Jeanne" Meyer, 76, of St. Rose, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Countryside Manor in Aviston.
She was born September 8, 1932, in St. Rose, to August and Rosa (Thole) VonderHaar Sr. and they preceded her in death. She married Valerius "Larry" Meyer on April 26, 1956, at St. Rose Church and he preceded her in death October 31, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Jacob; a grandson, Brent Meyer; brothers, Vincent, Bernard and Francis VonderHaar; a sister, Mary Louise VonderHaar; brothers-in-law, Eugene Beckmann, Alvin Maue, John Fuhler and Robert Goestenkors; sisters-in-law, Geri Ratermann and Millie Jansen.
Surviving are her children, Gerald (Julie) Meyer of O'FalIon, Ruth (Rick) Zurliene of Pierron, Paul (Lisa) Meyer of St. Rose, Carol (Del) Zurliene of Pierron, Marilyn (Jay) Fuhler of St. Rose, Sharon (Mark) Wiegmann of Huntsville, Ala., Angie (Dan) Diekmann of St. Rose and Mark (Stacey) Meyer of Breese; a son-in-law, Jake Jacob of St. Rose; 31 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; brothers and sisters, Alphonse (Pat) VonderHaar of Greenville, Edward (Joann) VonderHaar of St. Rose, Charles (Lorraine) VonderHaar of Carlyle, August (Pat) VonderHaar Jr. of St. Rose, Veronica Beckmann of St. Rose, Leona Maue of St. Louis, Mo. and Bertha Fuhler of St. Rose; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Isaak of Highland, Flo (Sam) Hannagan of Dayton N.J., Maureen "Moe" Goestenkors of Aviston, Lori (Mike) Williamson of Columbus, Md., Gene Jansen and Dennis Ratermann both of Breese.
She was a homemaker, member of' St. Rose Church, Altar Sodality and Choir, Breese American Legion Post 252 Auxiliary, past president of Mater Dei Mothers and friends club, and past election judge.
Funeral Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at St. Rose Church with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating.
Burial followed in St. Rose Cemetery.
Moss Funeral Home in Breese handled the arrangements.
