Pauline E. Wolters, 86, of Aviston, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at her home.

She was born June 4, 1922, in Aviston daughter of George and Rose (Rakers) Lampe. She married John H. Wolters November 28, 1945, in Aviston and he survives in Aviston.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Jim (Carol) Wolters of Maryville and John G. (Marilyn) Wolters of Highland; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-great- grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Florence) Lampe of Aviston; and two sisters, Rose Isabelle (Clarence) Holtmann of Albers and Marie Litteken of Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Anthony Lampe and Benedict Lampe; two sisters, Bernice Von Hatten and Clara Lampe.

Mrs. Wolters was a member of St. Francis Parish and Altar Sodality in Aviston, the American Legion Post 1239 Auxiliary in Aviston, and Catholic Holy Family Society which was formerly CK & L of I. She was a homemaker, a great cook and loved cooking and baking cookies. She was known for her Christmas cookies.

A funeral mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating.

Burial followed at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.

Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston handled the arrangements.
