Imelda Ann "Millie" Jansen, 72, of Belleville and formerly of St. Rose, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

She was born April 9, 1936, in St. Rose, to George and Romilda "Remy" (Woltering) Meyer and they preceded her in death. She married Eugene Jansen on July 2, 1955, in San Francisco, Calif. and he survives in Belleville.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a daughter, Deborah "Jan" (William) Schrempp, of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Worley and Ryan (Candy) Schrempp; sisters, Mary Lou (Howard) Isaak of Highland, Flo (Sam) Hannagan of Dayton N.J., Maureen "Moe" Goestenkors of Aviston and Lori (Mike) Williamson of Columbus, Md.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Meyer; and a sister, Geri Ratermann.

She was a retired dietician at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, and formerly worked for the Swansea Improvement Association where her input was highly regarded. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville, the Breese American Legion Post 252 Auxiliary and past president, Belleville-Swansea Lioness. She was a strong supporter of the Clinton County and St. Clair County Relay for Life where she was one of the longest cancer survivors.

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating.

Burial followed in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery.

Moss Funeral Home in Breese handled the arrangements.
